March 2022 Regular Monthly Meeting

The March 2022 regular monthly meeting will be held on Wednesday April 6th, 2022 at 7pm in the Southend Community Centre (Old Mira Road School) . Items on the agenda are Committee Reports and Correspondence Reports.

Proposal Presentation and Vote

President, Kevin Ivey, Treasurer Mike Whitty and National Rep, Kathy MacLeod will be in the area on Thursday, Dec 16, 2021 at the worksites to present the employer’s final offer and answer any questions.

A vote will take place following the presentations and the boxes sealed to be counted Thursday evening.

Below are the time lines

Proposal Presentation: 6:00 a.m. —–Location: Transit—————–Vote Times:6:30 am – 7:30 am
Proposal Presentation: 8:00 a.m. —–Location: North – Public Works—-Vote Times:8:30 am – 09:30 am
Proposal Presentation:10:00 a.m. —–Location: East – GB Public Works–Vote Times:10:30 am – 12:00 pm
Proposal Presentation: 1:00 p.m. —–Location:Central – Public Works—Vote Times:1:30 pm – 5:30 pm
Proposal Presentation: 4:30 p.m. —–Location: Central – Public Works–Vote Times:1:30 pm – 5:30 pm

All presentations and voting will take place at the lunchrooms at the above locations.

Members may attend and vote at a different location then where they work.

Information Rally @ Civic Center

We are holding an Information Rally in front of the Civic Center on Tuesday December 14th 2021. The Rally starts at 5pm. There will be T-shirts and noise makers and hot chocolate. It is very important to have as many members as possible attend so we can show the Mayor and Council that we are a strong union!!

Special Meeting & Vote on Final Offer

There will be a special meeting with an information session on a final offer from the employer. There will be a vote on this final offer.

This Special Meeting will take place on Sunday November 28, 2021 at 7:00 PM in the Main Concourse at Center 200.

Bursary Applications Sept 2021 to June 2022 Term

CUPE LOCAL 759 will be awarding three, five hundred dollar ($500.00) bursaries annually starting in January 2012. The bursaries will be awarded by CUPE Local 759 to a member, spouse, son, daughter, step-daughter, grandson/ granddaughter or ward attending a post-secondary institution (university, trade, private college) fulltime (September 2021 to June 2022 term).

The three awards will be chosen by a draw held at the January 2022 monthly meeting.

The Bursary Application with supporting documentation deadline is January 15, 2022.

There will be a special meeting with an information session on an offer from the employer. There will be a vote on the offer / strike vote.

This Special Meeting will take place on Sunday November 07, 2021 at 6:30 PM in the Main Concourse at Center 200.

The Febuary 2021 regular monthly meeting will be held on Wednesday Febuary 24th, 2021 at the Southend Community Centre (Old Mira Road School).
